A. Required qualifications, competences and knowledge
Formal Education | 4th year (or above) student or fresh graduate in Architecture or Civil Engineer.
Other Qualification
Language: English and Arabic (Writing proficiency in both).
Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and standard office Software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and 2/3D Software (AutoCAD, Sketchup).
Ability to work within a team.
Willingness to up-skill as required by the tasks to be performed.
Lebanese driving license with at least 3 years driving experience.
Duration of internship: July, August and September (3 months)
B. Responsibilities
The national intern is responsible to assist and support the technical advisors in the implementation of construction and renovation works in public schools. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the procedures of international organization in the construction field. He/She will have the chance to expend their knowledge in processing construction measures and applying them on site.
The national intern performs the following tasks:

Support the technical advisors in construction measures and procedural steps such as tendering, invoices processing, field visits, etc.
Participate in data collection and research tasks.
Support drafting documents including reports, letters and other implementation documents.
Conduct logistical tasks related to field trips, technical meetings and team events.
Coordinates and archives project related documents.
Assist and participate in the elaboration of proposals.
Description of the Programme:
GIZ-project ELCaps (Enhancing Learning Conditions at Public Schools) is commissioned by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with improvement of school environment for Syrian refugee families and for Lebanese families in host communities.
Part of this project are rehabilitation works at appr. 18-20 selected public school buildings in North Lebanon, Mount Lebanon and Bekaa. ELCaps is leading and monitoring all steps from selecting schools for further rehabilitation works until over handing the rehabilitated schools back to the partner. Planning and supervision as well as the construction works are over handed to Lebanese consultants and companies.
The project cooperates closely with the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) which is the partner of the project.
The project consists of the following two components:
Component 1: Rehabilitating and further improving the physical infrastructure of public schools.
Component 2: Improving the conditions for the development of a child-friendly school environment.
