Responsibilities

The Junior Advisor is responsible for

Assisting in the preparation and implementation of extra-curricular activities at public schools focussing on sports and arts, for e.g. the “visiting artists program”,

Establishing good working relations with school principals and staff as well as with the surrounding communities through regular school visits,

Assisting in the capacity development of teachers/social workers/community volunteers on providing extracurricular activities,

Support the team with organising events for visibility purposes,

Coordinating activities of SO1 with GIZ education projects and Qudra colleagues of other SO´s,

Drafting program documents, reports and presentations adhering to specific regulations,

Performs other duties and tasks at the request of the management.

 

Tasks

Advising the partner institution(s)

The Junior Advisor

Assists the development and implementation of project plans and activities at school level,

Contributes to preparing and implementing the coordination process, joint project/programme activities and work at the national level,

Supports the design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars and other events on issues connected with the project/programme’s area of activity,

Assists with quality assurance measures, improvements and initiatives.

 

Networking and cooperation

The Junior Advisor

Supports cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners, assists with PR work and cooperates with local communities, relevant organisations and individuals in the project/programme environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships

Communicates local interests and efforts, forwards these and encourages sharing ideas and information for the benefit of the project/programme

Supports creating a network of local and international artists.

 

 

Knowledge management

The Junior Advisor

Assists with knowledge transfer to project/programme information

Supports developing ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures

Drafts reports and presentation documents

Assists with research activities and studies on political issues which benefit joint programmes.

 

Coordination tasks

The Junior Advisor

Assists with general project planning and develops project concepts including preparation, organisation and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication and documentation

Contributes to coordinate relevant project activities at national level in consultation with the team and in cooperation with the partners,

Compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments

Assists with organising team meetings in connection with project

Represents the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf

Carries out important tasks for the project/programme, even if these are not explicitly cited in the job description

 

Other duties/additional tasks

Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management

 

 

Description of the Programme: QUDRA – Strengthening Resilience for Syrian Refugees in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. The QUDRA programme strengthens the resilience of host communities and refugees in the neighbouring countries of Syria (Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey), is co-funded by EU-MADAD fund and implemented by a consortium of European partners with GIZ in the lead. It seeks to improve access to education, skills development, social cohesion and local administration capacities. Furthermore, it promotes national and regional dialogue on issues related to refugees and host communities.
