Office helper - Part time

A. Background
GIZ –German International Cooperation Agency- supports the German Government in achieving its goals in international cooperation for sustainable development.
The target group of the project are male and female cultural and creative entrepreneurs, mainly aged 15-35, self-employed individuals, business start-ups, owners of MSMEs and their employees. Furthermore, interest representation groups and support systems of the sector such as revenue collection authorities, groups for the creative sector or chambers of commerce are partners of the project. The project will be implemented collaboratively by a team based in Germany (Bonn), Africa (South Africa, Kenya, Senegal) and the Middle East (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq). For the 3 countries in Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA), a regional hub is established in Johannesburg, South Africa, coordinating the activities in the region, and the same is established in Amman, Jordan, for the MENA region. The project is implemented in close cooperation with Goethe institute and aims at improving the prospects for employment and income for micro, small and mediums enterprises (MSME) and entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative industries.

The project will be hiring an office helper on a part time basis whose role is described below.

A.   Required qualifications, competences and experience

Formal Education

  • High School Degree

Professional Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in housekeeping and logistic support to offices

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Arabic native speaker, fair knowledge of English language
  • Work experience in the field of housekeeping
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Organized
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Willingness to up-skill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.

 

B.   Responsibilities

The position holder will be responsible for

  • Daily cleaning (4h / day) of office premises, equipment’s and materials of the office (50%)
  • Removing daily waste management
  • Assisting staff members in office space arrangements, moving furniture, materials and equipment and storage

In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:

C.   Tasks

  • Cleans the office premises every day (including offices, meeting room, terrace, stairways and common areas)
  • Keeps the office, toilets, kitchen and furniture clean and tidy at all time
  • Empties all waste receptacles and remove the trash outside the office premises every day as per the recycling measures taken in the office
  • Cleans the windows, internally and externally, door panels, partitions, sills, etc.
  • Ensures logistics in case of meetings or workshops
  • Refills paper towels, toilet paper, sanitary napkin and soap dispensers
  • Supports procurement of services related to the office logistics and maintenance
  • Serves tea/coffee and other beverages to employees and guests upon request
  • Coordinates with other Housekeeper(s), when needed

 

Other duties/additional tasks

The position holder

  • Assists in and/or carry out other tasks upon request from superior
  • Immediately reports all problems involving logistics and maintenance to superior
  • Handles all relevant tasks according to GIZ safety measures and health measures
  • Other tasks upon request from Officer Responsible for the commission/AV

Project Summary:

The "Preventing violence against women and girls in Lebanon" project aims at strengthening the capacity of state and non-state actors in Lebanon in the prevention of violence against women and girls and the improvement of the coordination and cooperation of stakeholders involved in the process. The project will additionally support selected Social Development Centers (SDCs) in their role as a first point of contact for women potentially affected by gender-based violence (GBV) as well as for survivors of GBV. In addition, selected community-based organizations will be strengthened in carrying out awareness-raising activities within their communities as well as in offering and improving concrete support services for survivors of GBV.
