Expert Finance Administrator - Service Conract, in Beirut / Lebanon

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of the biggest German aid organizations. In the Middle East WHH started to operate in 2013 specifically to help people who are affected by the Syria Crisis. Since then, the organisation has expanded its program scope and scale to make the greatest possible contribution to meeting humanitarian needs in Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon. In Lebanon WHH is working with Lebanese implementing partner organizations.

You will be working from Beirut, and coordinate with Lebanese partners, as well as with our Beirut team. The supervision will be with the WHH program office in Turkey.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the project’s contractual agreement and ensure strong budget control in close cooperati on with the Head of Project
  • Ensure that activities and workplan are in synchronization with budget versus actual
  • Carry out financial administrative controls at project level
  • Ensure that the project’s financial administrative processes at the project location are auditable and efficient
  • Support the Head of Project to prepare or revise the project/co-financing budget/budget modification/amendment
  • Correctness
  • Provide instructions and advisory to finance team members in Lebanon under supervision
  • Instruct and support project partner organizations in matters relating to financial management.
  • Support Head of Project with entering fund requests in the FundsPro system
  • Monitor funds in the bank/cash and update weekly the Head of Project about remaining balance in the project
  • Partner's report reviewing/checking, entering in FundsPro system or releasing
  • Fulfillment of any other tasks which are assigned by the management and correspond in general with the character of this position
  • Supervise Lebanon finance team members reporting and build their capacity
  • capacity building of partners and identify gaps in finance systems

Your profile

  • Very good knowledge in English and Arabic (speaking, writing, reading)
  • More than 4 years of experience in Finance Departments of (I)NGOs
  • Experience in working with implementing partners
  • Advanced skills in MS Office programs and knowledge in working with any accounting soft ware.

  • Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business Adm/Banking or related area
  • Experience in working with INGOs
  • Ability and willingness to work in a multi-nati onal and multi-confessional environment
  • Ability to travel over land
  • Good moderation and communication skills
  • Good coaching skills
