Project Assistant / Finance

DCL is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Project Assistant with excellent communication and time-management skills. The Project Assistant will assist DCL’s Senior Project Manager on ensuring the effective implementation and supervision of the WFP-funded In-Kind Distribution project in Tripoli and Minieh-Dennieh and representation of the project’s activities as required by the donor.

Job description:

  • Processing financial documents including contracts, expense reports, and invoices.
  • Drafting contracts, budgets, and donor reports with direction from the Senior Project Manager.
  • Preparing monthly, and final financial reports, or as needed by WFP.
  • Act as primary point of contact between DCL and suppliers, and Service Providers, and companies.
  • Liaising and communicating with field office staff, providing logistical and administrative support.
  • Ensuring proper internal coordination with project teams and support teams.
  • Book-keeping for all financial and contractual documents, bills, and invoices in collaboration with Logistics Officer.
  • Preparing Payments for suppliers and payroll for all staff categories.
  • Performing other related duties as required by the Senior Project Manager.
  • Assisting the project management team, in budgeting (budget forecast, budget realignment, etc.)
  • Reporting directly to the senior project manager, and functional reporting to the project director when needed

Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (of which minimum 3 years in NGOs);
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and NGO principles;
  • Very good knowledge of the project management cycle and experience in management;
  • Experience in finance and budget understanding;
  • MS proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
  • Previous experience working with international NGOs, is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

Duration of Contract

  • 4 months (October till January) with possibility of extension
