Project Coordinator

Under the WFP's School Feeding 2024-2025 Programme, DCL is seeking a full-time 'Project Coordinator' to ensure the smooth execution of operations and accurate monitoring of the programme.

Job Overview:

The Project Coordinator will oversee the distribution of Fortified Date Bars (FDB) to children in designated centers as part of the School Feeding Programme. This role ensures the efficient execution of activities, compliance with established guidelines, and the maintenance of high-quality standards. The coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Project Manager, Snacks and Kitchen Coordinators, and Food Safety and Nutrition Focal Points to ensure seamless coordination and monitoring.

Key responsibilities include managing the distribution logistics, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on programme progress. The Project Coordinator will address any challenges that arise during implementation and provide timely solutions. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Emergency Assistance programme when activated.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The successful individual will contribute to the success of the programme, ensuring that children receive nutritious meals and that community needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison with center focal points, internal coordinators, and food safety and nutrition focal points.
  • Oversee the distribution of fortified date bars (FDB) to ensure efficiency and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Conduct real-time monitoring of distributions to verify compliance with DCL and WFP protocols, including quantity, quality, and distribution methods.
  • Conduct site visits to assigned centers upon request to assess operations and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records on student participation, inventory levels, and any irregularities, challenges, or improvements.
  • Prepare detailed reports on school visits, distributions, and issues encountered. Reports may include data collected through digital tools.
  • Maintain effective communication with focal points, teachers, and project stakeholders to address concerns and provide guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with the Area Coordinator to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure orders are placed on time and in the correct quantities by coordinating with center focal points.
  • Attend WFP training sessions related to program sensitization
  • Monitor and report on sensitization sessions conducted in schools.
  • Provide feedback to improve the effectiveness and impact of sensitization efforts.
  • Ensure that school staff and students understand the objectives and benefits of the FDB activity.

Requirements:

  •  A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project coordination, monitoring, or similar roles within educational or humanitarian programs.
  •  Experience with NGOs or international organizations is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage or support school programs or food security-related projects.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations.
  •  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data collection skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with the North Lebanon and Akkar regions is an asset.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the WFP school snacks project and adherence to DCL’s policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English.
  • Must have access to a car and a valid driving license for travel within North Lebanon and Akkar
