Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will oversee the distribution of meals under the School Feeding Programme, including school kitchen meals, Fortified Date Bars (FDB) activity, and community kitchen activities in designated kitchens in North Lebanon and Akkar. This role ensures the efficient execution of activities, compliance with established guidelines, and maintenance of high-quality standards. The coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager, Kitchen Coordinators, and Food Safety Focal Points to ensure seamless coordination, effective monitoring, and adherence to food safety requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day implementation, distribution logistics, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on programme progress. The Project Coordinator will address any challenges during implementation and provide timely solutions to ensure smooth operations. The role also includes supporting the Emergency Assistance Programme if/when activated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of School Kitchen, Community Kitchen, and FDB project activities in the North Lebanon and Akkar governorates, ensuring timely execution and compliance with DCL and WFP requirements.
- Ensure Kitchen Coordinators and field monitors effectively manage field activities, track progress, and identify challenges or barriers in the execution of activities.
- Coordinate with Food Safety and Quality Officer.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Kitchen Coordinators and field monitors, ensuring accurate data collection, snack/meal delivery, and reporting.
- Conduct regular field visits to assess program implementation and proactively address field challenges.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to encourage communication, discuss challenges, and provide updates on program developments.
- Serve as the primary focal point for coordination with stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and partner organizations to ensure program objectives are met and stakeholder interests are addressed.
- Represent the organization in relevant meetings and discussions with partners.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager on project progress, key achievements, field challenges, and any changes in the local context.
- Ensure all program data, including beneficiary information, child forms, attendance records, and other reports, are collected, organized, and followed up in a timely manner.
- Identify and address operational issues affecting project implementation, including those related to logistics, resource allocation, or coordination challenges.
- Work closely with Kitchen Coordinators, Field Monitors and the Project Manager to adjust activity plans and project goals based on feedback and field realities.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Project Manager.
- Safeguarding & Accountability: Report and address any protection, or other cross-cutting themes’ concerns, fraud, or misuse of resources in a timely and appropriate manner.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences). A Master’s degree or additional relevant qualifications is a plus.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or coordination role, ideally within international NGOs or related sectors (education, child protection, or community development).
- Proven experience managing and overseeing activities in remote or underserved areas (experience in North Lebanon and Akkar regions is an advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other productivity software.
- Strong reporting, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Valid driving license and own a car to facilitate travel within North and Akkar areas.
- Availability to travel regularly as needed within the project areas.
