Protection Officer

Under the WFP's school snacks 2024-2025 programme, DCL is Looking for a part time Protection Officer in the Tripoli office.

Job Overview:

The Protection Officer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all protection-related activities within the School Feeding Programme. This includes managing and addressing protection cases, conducting timely and appropriate referrals, and organizing awareness sessions for staff and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to established protection protocols, with a particular focus on gender-based violence (GBV), protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), psychosocial support (PSS), and disability inclusion. Additionally, the Protection Officer will work with internal teams and external partners to monitor and report on protection-related activities, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment for all beneficiaries, in line with DCL's values of dignity, equality, and non-discrimination.

Key responsibilities:

· Provide technical support to ensure the effective design and implementation of protection – related activities.

· Conduct protection needs assessments and address the specific needs of vulnerable groups.

· Organize and deliver training on protection topics such as safeguarding, GBV, and protection principles for DCL staff, field officers, and partners.

· Develop and update tools, materials, and monitoring systems to track the progress and impact of protection projects.

·  Collect and integrate beneficiaries’ feedback to enhance the quality and relevance of protection programs.

· Establish and maintain referral pathways for protection services, coordinating with relevant partners and stakeholders.

· Identify and refer vulnerable individuals, including children and parents, to appropriate support services.

· Participate in monthly protection meetings with WFP and other NGOs to share updates and coordinate efforts.

· Monitor and evaluate protection interventions to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.

· Prepare and submit regular reports on protection activities, challenges, and achievements.

· Foster strong coordination and collaboration with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen protection responses.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work,  Human Rights, community development, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in protection within the nonprofit sector.

- Proven experience in managing protection cases, including GBV, PSEA, and child protection.

 - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, power point).

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and reporting skills.

- Fluency in English and Arabic.

- A valid driving license is a plus.
