Quality Control Officer

DCL is looking for a Quality Control Officer in Al Mhammara - Akkar for the WFP 2021-2022 School Snacks Project - North Lebanon. This key role is responsible for ensuring that food products (snacks) meet the established standards of quality and food safety, and that the products (snacks) are in line with the specifications.

Job Description:

  • Inspect and ensure high quality of product which matches pre-determined specifications
  • Monitor the process of cleaning and packaging snacks at the warehouse.
  • Analise and address possible reasons for product defects and quality lapses.
  • Inspect the facility to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained in order to meet food safety requirements.
  • Determine methods to resolve any quality or food safety compliance issues that arise.
  • Liaise with team members and make all arrangements for smooth distribution in collaboration with DCL Area Monitors.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct quality control visits to the supplier's warehouse in Al Mhammara during the cleaning and packaging process (Flexible working hours, 4-5 days a week)
  • Monitor snack-handling and warehouse processes in coordination with the Senior Project Assistant.
  • Report daily and monthly to the Senior Project Assistant.
  • Prepare reports, compile and maintain records on product quality status, and all inspections that have been conducted.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience (experience within an NGOs is a plus);
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and NGO principles;
  • Degree in Food Quality/Food Safety or equivalent is a plus;
  • MS proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory.
  • Must have a car and valid driving license.

 

Duration of Contract:

3 months (March 2022 till May 2022)
