Job OverviewThe Senior Area Monitor is responsible for overseeing the distribution of healthy snacks to children in the assigned schools, ensuring adherence to established guidelines, protocols, and quality standards within the designated geographical area. This role involves supervising multiple schools, coordinating snack orders, conducting regular visits, and reporting directly to the Area Coordinator. The Area Monitor will play a key role in ensuring that the program runs smoothly, effectively supporting the nutritional needs of students while maintaining program compliance and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- School Monitoring: Regularly visit and monitor assigned schools within the designated geographical area in both AM and PM shifts to ensure compliance with WFP school snack program guidelines, including verifying the quality and distribution of snacks.
- Snack Orders: The monitor should work closely with school staff to ensure the proper distribution of snacks and to accurately track the quantities remaining in the storage room. This will help in providing correct and precise numbers to the DCL Data and Reporting Officer on a daily basis, adhering to the program’s nutritional and logistical requirements.
- Data Collection & Reporting: The monitor is responsible for gathering and maintaining accurate data, including attendance, waybills, snack inventory, allergy forms, storage room temperature, and oil data when applicable. They must report challenges to the Area Coordinator, fill all online sheets daily, and provide regular daily, weekly, and monthly updates to support program tracking and improvements.
- Effective Communication & Problem-Solving: Foster positive relationships with school authorities, teachers, and other key stakeholders to address concerns, provide support, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Adherence to Program Guidelines: Ensure the program is implemented in alignment with established guidelines, quality standards, and nutritional requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing insights, best practices, and challenges with other Area Monitors and project members to support the continuous improvement of the program.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is an advantage.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in project monitoring, management, or school programs, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
- A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are necessary.
- Strong organizational, data collection, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of the North Lebanon and/or Akkar regions is an advantage.
