About Generations for Peace

Generations For Peace is a leading global non-profit peacebuilding organization founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein in 2007.

Dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grassroots, Generations For Peace empowers volunteer leaders of youth to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence.

Carefully facilitated sport-based games, art, advocacy, dialogue, and empowerment activities provide an entry point to engage children, youth, and adults, and a vehicle for integrated education and sustained behavioral change.

Project Description

Generations For Peace has been active in Lebanon since the beginning of 2013. Following the success of our first Sport For Peace Program, which targeted Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian children in Sidon, GFP has expanded its work to implement the Program in 10 regions across the country. GFP is additionally introducing Arts For Peace in Lebanon to promote a culture of social cohesion.

The rapid influx of Syrian refugees into Lebanon has increased social pressure on communities suffering from violence among young people due to vulnerability, discrimination, and economic difficulties. GFP Youth Resolve  Program supported by EU Madad Fund and implemented in Lebanon by GFP and DPNA are designed to raise awareness of the concepts of peace building, human rights, and social cohesion through several arts platforms like filmmaking, music, theater and comics. Using unique activities, we engage Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian children and youth to help them bring these concepts into their communities and become a positive change in society.
