DPNA Mission
To empower, mobilize, and enable citizens to change and meet the needs of the communities, as individuals and/or groups, specifically the marginalized communities in rural, bordered, and poverty areas, through human rights based approach.
Funded by the European Union’s (EU) MADAD Trust Fund, the Youth RESOLVE 2 consortium (composed of the Development for People and Nature Association, GAME, Utopia and World Vision as consortium lead agency) aims to empower youth to contribute to social stability in Lebanon through the establishment of youth committees to foster active participation in decision-making processes and means of advocacy on both local and national levels. In addition, peacebuilding through sports activities will be part of the programme. Through its various activities, the action aims to improve the capacity of 151.000 targeted refugees and host communities across Beirut & Mt. Lebanon, North & Central Bekaa, the South and Tripoli.
The Social Cohesion and Peacebuilding Specialist will be technically leading the 1st outcome of the project in the form of the Consortium's Social Stability Working Group and oversee all material related to social stability and peacebuilding developed and applied throughout the project, hence providing technical support and consultation when needed. This particularly includes technical oversight with regards to the consortium’s Youth Committee (YC) component and sports peacebuilding activities implemented by partners.
- Overall objective: To strengthen social stability among youth by empowering them to become leading actors in their
communities. - Objective 1: Refugees and host communities youth interact for the benefit of their communities.
- Objective 2: Municipal/community decision makers implement refugee and host community youth-led propositions for change.
Requested Services:
- Organize monthly meetings for the Social Stability Working Group: (more often during inception phase);
- Provide technical support and consultation: training material, the methodology of implementation…;
- Oversee the material related to social stability and peacebuilding, particularly with regards to the YC implementation throughout Lebanon;
- Coordinate and Communicate with DPNA Project Manager/Program Manager;
- Submit Reports to DPNA Management (Program Manager);
- Work closely together with other technical working group leads to harmonize tools and provide lessons learnt;
- Provide relevant input for reporting and evaluation purposes that elevate the project and contribute to the project’s overall objective;
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of progressive proven experience in similar work;
- Previous experience in relation to Youth, Local Governance and peacebuilding (to be provided within the CV);
- Extensive professional experience in the design of trainings material;
- Good facilitation skills;
- Good understanding of the Humanitarian work especially the development field;
- Familiarity with civil society and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) engagement;
- Ability to work on tight schedules with minimal supervision;
- Good English and Arabic speaking and writing skills;
The Social Cohesion and Peacebuilding specialist should dedicate 2 hours per day, 10 hours per week. of their time towards the project’s outcome.
