Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

I. Job Counselor is Responsible to Carry out the following Deliverable:

1. Labor Market Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive labor market assessments to identify in-demand professions, emerging sectors, and existing skills gaps.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, private sector actors, and industry stakeholders to gather insights on labor market trends and employment needs.

2. Career Guidance and Counseling

  • Organize and deliver structured career guidance sessions for youth, offering tailored advice based on individual qualifications, interests, and labor market realities.
  • Support youth in developing personalized career and vocational development plans.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on job opportunities, vocational training pathways, and skills enhancement options.

3. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor ongoing developments in the labor market, including emerging job trends and shifts in demand.
  • Contribute to the preparation of progress reports, case studies, and success stories related to career guidance and youth employability support.

4. Compliance:

  • Demonstrate complete commitment to Nabaa’s code of conduct and protection policies such as PSEAH, Child protection, anti-corruption and general safeguarding.

 

II. Minimum Qualifications

A. Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Career Development, or a related field.

B. Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably with direct field engagement and youth-focused programming.

C. Soft Skills 

  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills to manage multiple youth cases and counseling sessions effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication in both Arabic and English, essential for guiding youth and liaising with employers and training providers.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to support youth in achieving their employment and career goals.
  • Active listening and empathy to understand the unique needs, challenges, and aspirations of youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to help youth overcome barriers to employment and stay motivated.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the evolving needs of youth and labor market dynamics.
  • Strong motivational and coaching skills to build confidence and encourage youth engagement in training, employment, and personal development opportunities.

D. Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet-based tools.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct timely and accurate data entry and analysis.
