I) About Developmental Action without Borders, Naba'a:

Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

II) Nabaa's Employment Screening and Protection Protocol: 

Developmental Action without Borders, Naba’a, does not employ individuals who are married to children (persons under 18). Naba’a enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination. All prospective candidates must undergo thorough reference and background checks which will mainly verify employment history, professional performance, and adherence to the aforementioned policies. Furthermore, the selected candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or an equivalent criminal record check as a condition of employment.

III) The Shadow Teacher Will Carry the Following Deliverables:

Preparation and Documents Handling:

Handling the required personal profiles and documents of students

Completing daily preparation and documentation such as lesson plans and attendance sheets for morning and afternoon shifts

Assistance at Schools:

Provide needed assistance at schools within the area to boost students’ skills inside the classrooms in close coordination with school teachers.

Assess Students’ Needs:

Conduct individualized assessments to identify students’ learning challenges and areas of improvement.

Monitoring and Evaluating Progress:

Continuously track and evaluate students’ progress adjusting plans as needed to ensure measurable improvement.

Maintain detailed records of each student’s performance and development.

Foster a supportive Learning Environment:

Build a positive and encouraging relationship with students to boost their self-esteem and motivation

Reflection of Success Stories and Challenges:

Updating the master teacher with the daily implementation and challenges if any.

Safety and Protection:

Presenting complete commitment to Nabaa’s PSEA, safeguarding and anti-harassment policies as well as code of conduct

Guaranteeing children’s safety and security on all levels

Referring cases to the psychologist once concerns are raised that a child subjected to abuse or is at risk

IV) Minimum Qualifications: 

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Teaching Diploma certification. 

Professional Qualifications:

2 - 3 years of experience in teaching children under remedial programs.

Competencies / Soft Skills (as needed for performing selected tasks)

Strong organizational and planning skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Strong Leadership skills

Creative thinking and innovative mindset

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically.

Professional problem-solving and team work skills

Technical Skills (as needed for performing selected tasks)

Strong understanding of the educational challenges faced by students.

Computer literacy in outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet

Effective lesson planning and report writing skills

Understanding of child rights and child protection
