I) About Developmental Action without Borders, Naba'a:
Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

II) Nabaa's Employment Screening and Protection Protocol:
Developmental Action without Borders, Naba’a, does not employ individuals who are married to children (persons under 18). Naba’a enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination. All prospective candidates must undergo thorough reference and background checks which will mainly verify employment history, professional performance, and adherence to the aforementioned policies. Furthermore, the selected candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or an equivalent criminal record check as a condition of employment.
III) RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER:
1. Field Visits and Assessments
- Conduct risk and protection assessment as well as assess the impact of protection and proper use of complaint channels in Nabaa’s centers.
2. Advocacy and Awareness:
- Participates in advocacy efforts and awareness-raising campaigns related to protection.
3. Awareness and Trainings:
- Raises the awareness of team and community through providing capacity building trainings and induction about protection and Nabaa’s policies.
4. Programs and Emergency Response:
- Develops and implements protection measures during emergency situations.
- Ensures that protection cross-cuts all programs implemented in the field through developing plans and training the staff.
5. Development of Plans:
- Works closely with the protection department to develop protection plans for community centers to protection beneficairies.
6. Research and Assessment:
- Develops data related to protection situation in the operating areas.
- Documentes protection violations in all Nabaa operating areas.
7. Other Duties:
- Performing other protection-related duties as assigned, based on organizational needs.
8. Organizational Commitment:
- Demonstrates commitment to Nabaa’s code of conduct and protection policies, such as PSEAH, child protection and safeguarding.
IV) Minimum Qualifications of Child Protection Officer
1. Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or any other related field (e.g., Human Rights, or similar); a Master’s degree or a Law degree is considered an asset.
2. Professional Qualifications:
- At least two years of professional experience in the protection field in humanitarian settings.
3. Soft skills (as needed for performing the selected tasks)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Solid data collection, analysis, and research capabilities
4. Technical Skills (as needed for perfomring the selected tasks)
- Sound knowledge of child protection principles and child rights frameworks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet-based research
