Consultancy: Transcription and Translation of Videos

Diakonia Lebanon Country Office has filmed video coverage of an event that took place in Beirut in addition to four short video interviews. The consultant will produce and deliver transcription and translation of the video from English to Arabic and Arabic to English.

Deliverables:

The program is seeking for the services of a consultant with experience and expertise to transcribe and translate a total of 5 videos, 30 minutes in duration. In coordination with the Program Officer, the consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:

• Transcription of video material in English and Arabic.
• Translation from Arabic to English and English to Arabic.
• Translation of a two-minute promotional video with approximately one minute of talking.
• Four full length video interviews a total of 28 minutes in length.
• Knowledge of legal terminology in English and Arabic is preferable but not necessary.

The consultant will receive the content from Diakonia for transcription and translation.

TIMEFRAME

The consultant will work in coordination with the Program Officer to ensure timely translation of the material. Follow up sessions for editing and documentation will be conducted as appropriate. The consultant will develop a workable timeline and work schedule in consultation with the Program Officer.

The final deadline for all translations and final edits is 15 June 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English
• Excellent video transcription and translation skills
• Previous experience in translating videos
• Past experience working with non governmental organization (NGO) and developmental agencies will be an added advantage
