Exciting new position for a project officer to join the International Humanitarian Law Resource Desk for Syria at Diakonia Lebanon office.
Diakonia’s quality assurance runs through all our work and includes handbooks on planning, monitoring and evaluation (PME), as well as on human resources and administrative routines. Evaluations are also crucial. The main tasks of a project officer in Diakonia is in relation to quality assurance.
In addition to quality assurance, this job will include the opportunity to engage with IHL and other humanitarian specialists locally and regionally, as well as work alongside IHL colleagues and POs in the other Diakonia programs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Expert/IHL Resource Desk Manager. The Project Officer works in cooperation with the IHL Resource Desk team and the Finance Officer, and is especially engaged in grant management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, the PO will lead on drafting action plans, developing M&E framework and process , review programme financial reports, and lead in preparing narrative reports for back donors, Head Office and Regional Office.
The Project Officer is also engaged in project handling, training and workshop arrangement, management, coordination of activities and procurement in relation to the IHL/ RD, as well the PO will manage or/ and support logistical arrangements related to IHL Resource Desk activities.
Core Qualifications Required:
Five years’ work experience with International Non-Governmental Organization.
Experience of Administration and Finance.
PME background and experience.
Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Strong communication skills and proven ability to work in a team.
Good planning and problem solving skills, ability to meet deadlines.
