Communications Officer

  DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY TRUST LEBANON - JOB DESCRIPTION  Communications Officer   REGION: MENA      OFFICE: Beirut                                                           REPORTS TO:  Country Director   Under the direct supervision of the Country Director the Communications Officer will support the implementations of the communications strategy, as well as provides inputs to the design, management and implementation of the Lebanon office communications and publication strategies which are geared to influence the development agenda, promote public and media outreach and mobilize political and financial support for the DOT Lebanon Office. General Communications: Support the implementation of communications and advocacy strategies Support the development/production of communication materials for marketing and awareness-raising campaigns, including briefing materials and press releases Develop E-annual report, E-newsletters, articles, blogs, impact stories Maintenance of information database and photo library Update on a regular basis DOT Lebanon media and contact database on salesforce and mailchimp Establish and maintain media relations through development and maintenance of professional contacts and relationships with print, radio and TV media Monitor media channels after each event and collect media clippings Regular meeting with HQ office communications team   Social Media-related tasks: • Create, manage and promote a social media plan with content for Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin; • Monitor social media interactions and act as focal point for comments moderation. • Oversee social media design (i.e. Facebook timeline cover, profile pic, Twitter profile); • Design, create and manage social ad campaigns; • Compile results reports (ROA, engagement and community growth); • Map out social media strategy measurable by tests and metrics.   Website-related tasks: • Analyse and execute online campaigns to drive web traffic; • Analyse and improve website published contents in order to improve the search engine ranking through keywords optimization; • Create, curate and manage all published contents (images, infographics and video-graphics, video and translation/adaptation of written text) to reach the target audience and engage new supporters; • Update and maintain the public information and external relations databases and stock of materials.   Digital media identity-related tasks: • Monitor DOT Lebanon’s online reputation through audience feeds and satisfaction; • Create a specific and distinct identity against DOT Canada; • Develop and implement a process to engage new influencers and bloggers supporting protection, advocacy and awareness appeals; • Identify digital media partnerships in order to find new advocacy channels and opportunities; • Create specific digital contents for different audiences.    Minimum Requirements A full commitment to DOT’s core values and humanitarian mandate Diploma in communications, graphic design, public administration, Four years’ experience in a similar related job or research Experience in SEM, SEO, and web analytics tools (Raven, Google Analytics); Experience in Content Management Systems for website online publishing (Wordpress, Joomla); Knowledge of social media and analytics software (Hootsuite, Facebook Insights, etc.); Working knowledge of graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to train / coach interns and give presentations Ability to cope and work under pressure   COMPENSATION: Interested applicants for this position must submit current curriculum vitae and the names and coordinates of three references.
