DOT’s signature entrepreneurship programs, ReachUp! and StartUp!, integrate ICT, life skills, and micro-enterprise development and are delivered in a cost-effective manner, using university graduates to train and build capacity of youth in their communities. DOT transforms and supports young women and men, as they become leaders of economic and education change in their societies.
DOT is launching its education program Teach Up! (TU!), and to support it’s launch, DOT Lebanon is seeking to hire Area Managers.
Position Description:
As a Program Manager, you will work to support the launch and sustainability of the DOT TU! program in Lebanon through coaching and regular communication with Area Managers. You will work on the DOT Lebanon country team and take your direction from the Country Director.
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
Programme Management
Support in the development of the Annual Workplan and ensure the AOP is communicated with its deliverables to the field team
Ensure that the project remain within the remit of its initial design, and propose, and to prepare any amendments when necessary
Support project teams in the fulfillment of their duties according to programme design.
Ensure that appropriate systems and plans are in place for dealing with emergencies
Support in the planning and implementation of the DOT TU! trainings
Guide and support the Area Managers in assessing the school infrastructure, its ICT environment and personnel, and in coaching the Teachers Facilitators working in 6-8 schools
Ensure that teacher facilitators are consistently fulfilling their roles, completing program delivery tasks and achieving milestones while developing and applying the skills they need to drive successful implementation of the DOT TU! program in their communities
Monitoring and Evaluation
Support in the establishment and enhancement of systems and standards for the monitoring and evaluation of the project in compliance with World Learning/USAID guidelines with close coordination with DOT HQ M & E team
Ensure the data is properly documented and reports in the field are properly developed and reviewed by the DOT Lebanon Program officer
Review the internal and external reports prepared by the Program Officer
Lead the quarterly meeting with the field team
Support in the creation of a learning and sharing culture among the Area Managers, TFs, and DOT Lebanon/HQ teams with special focus on the DOT intranet space
Staff Management / Human Resources (HR)
Oversee the hiring of Area Managers and Teacher Facilitator with the input of the Country Director and Finance/Admin. HR Manager and provide them with proper orientation and support
Train/Coach Area Managers on DOT and TU! curriculum ongoing updates
Coach and manage Area Managers and their teams of TF in various areas such as but not limited to: proper delegation, empowerment, clear segregation of duties, etc.
Representation
Act as the liaison person between DOT Lebanon and major stakeholders as CRDP, MEHE, Public Schools and other identified entities
Act as representative for the DOT Lebanon project in front of external partners and in various co-ordination forums
Act as the main liaison person between DOT Mexico, and HQ technical people and DOT Lebanon, ensuring regular communication is taking place: lessons learned, challenges, recommendations, tools, etc..
Position Qualification & Skills Requirements:
Minimum of master degree in the field of education, social sciences, or development
Must have at least 10 years’ experience in the education or development work
Solid experience of project cycle management, ensuring the delivery of high quality programmes
Strong negotiation, advocacy and communication skills
Provide high quality supervision, line management and support to staff
Provide leadership and coordination in planning, and monitoring and evaluation
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent managerial, coaching and leadership skills.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and efficient multi-tasker. This candidate can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic working environment. He/ She will have excellent writing skills, is creative and committed.
