The Grants Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for grants acquisition, including writing winning proposals, with primarily institutional donors and private actors for the Syria programme. The Grants Acquisition Coordinator is part of the management team and accountable to the Country Director.
Develop Grants Acquisition strategy in line with the Dorcas strategy and Country Strategic Plan of the Syria programme and monitor the implementation of the strategy
Identify (local) funding opportunities and discuss opportunities with the local management team and HQ focal persons
Develop fundable concepts for institutional and private donors in line with the Dorcas strategy in cooperation with the Country Team
Write grant proposals (including logframes and budgets) and/or support proposal writing processes at the local level in cooperation with finance/programme staff
Contribute to networking and partnership building where necessary
Representation of Dorcas in external meetings, especially UN and INGO coordination meetings upon request of the Country Director
Capacity Building
Capacity building of potential local partner organizations and Dorcas staff in grants acquisition related topics

Job requirements:
MA degree in humanitarian aid, rural development or business development or related field;
Excellent command of English in both speech and writing;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian aid/development, preferably in an international or large local non-governmental organization;
Proven experience in writing winning grant proposals;
Strong knowledge of institutional donors and their requirements, like Dutch MoFA, EU and other donors
Pro-active and hands-on attitude and ability to improvise;
Knowledge of cultural differences in working and negotiating;
Adherence to the mission and vision of Dorcas.
