livelihood consultant- Aleppo, Syria

Main Tasks:

• Conduct field studies and business mapping to determine the livelihood activities needed in the mentioned areas;
• Identify and recommend sustainable livelihood practices that could be introduced in the project areas;
• Identify strength, weaknesses and risks of projects;
• Support and develop a work plan and tools based on conducted field studies that are in line with project objectives;
• Supervise and follow up on the implementation of the project;
• Develop training materials on the selected best sustainable livelihood practices, including how to be energy efficient, promoting recycling and minimizing production waste;
• Conduct trainings for the community members on proposed livelihood practices as well on financial literacy and reducing environmental footprint;
• Support continual improvement of livelihood activities by capturing and sharing key challenges, articulating obstacles and proposed solutions, and identifying success stories to highlight;
• Conduct monitoring visits to project locations in Aleppo and rural Aleppo, and facilitate necessary interventions when needed;
• Perform other tasks as requested by the management team of Dorcas.
• Working with the livelihood team, provide advice and guidance.

Expected results/deliverables:

• Needs assessment report
• Training materials developed
• Report on the current livelihood strategies, available opportunities and recommendations that will improve the livelihood of communities in the pilot sites.
• Submit reports periodically in a timely manner.
