Livelihood Coordinator- Syria

The Livelihood coordinator will lead on the planning and implementing livelihood projects following proposed practices. S/he will be responsible for managing and supporting the project team. They will transfer key technical skills to staff, oversee projects assessments, mapping, and contribute to analysis. They will contribute in the design and implementation of training programmes. The Livelihood Project Coordinator will be responsible for the development, start-up, and daily supervision of all small businesses supported by the project. The Livelihood Coordinator will be reporting to the field coordinator in Aleppo.

Main Tasks:

  • Be responsible of the overall livelihoods program development, implementation and management in Aleppo;
  • Ensure that the implementation of the livelihood projects are in line with Dorcas/ME livelihoods intervention framework, strategy and budget;
  • Monitor the projects for efficacy, quality, and cost effectiveness;
  • Supervise and coordinate technical training activities based on identified needs for staff members and beneficiaries;
  • Work closely with the livelihood consultant and agricultural consultant to determine the operational needs of the livelihoods program;
  • Support teams in ensuring that logistical materials are provided;
  • Work closely with M&E to design and implement a reporting system to monitor and evaluate the objectives, indicators and outcomes of the project;
  • Conduct regular/daily/weekly  visits to the field to ensure proper implementation of activities, determine gaps and needs;
  • Provide technical advice and supportive supervision to staff working in all livelihoods projects (responding in a timely manner to technical questions, analysing problems and identifying solutions);
  • Ensure all reports produced by livelihood officer towards donors and partners are matching the expected quality, finalize the reports and submit them to the field coordinator in a timely manner;
  • ensure efficient circulation of information between the livelihoods teams and other departments;
  • Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed.
