M&E Officer/ Syria

1.  Monitoring

• Develop monitoring plan for the project
• Develops / adjusts data gathering tools as needed for the project
• Tests data gathering tools,
• Analyse results of the monitoring activities
• Drafts monitoring reports

2. Evaluation

• Supports evaluations
• Proof read deliverables – provides feedback

3. Assessments

• Supports assessments
• Proof read deliverables – provide feedback

4. Capacity Building & Knowledge sharing

• Monitor implementation of local partners and give or organise capacity building support dependent on gaps
• Train local partners in monitoring and implementation

Scope and Accountability 

• The M&E Officer is part of the M&E team. S/He reports to the M&E Manager

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• BSc degree in social sciences, economics, statistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian aid, preferably in an international or large local non-governmental organization (NGO);
• Developed quantitative and qualitative research, analysis and evaluation skills
• Computer literacy and competency in use of Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with electronic data capture
• Knowledge of SPSS or other statistics software
• Communication skills both verbally and in writing;
• Fluent in Arabic and English in both speech and writing
• Pro-active and hands-on attitude and ability to improvise;
