Senior social worker

  • In charge of the community center in Batroun - Bejdarfil
  • Target population:
    • Refugees
    • Lebanese host communities
    • And domestic migrant workers
  • Make sure that the activities are conducted in line with the projects being implemented
  • Building linkages and networks with local stakeholders, making people in the area aware of the center.
  • Participating with the social worker in the recruitment of beneficiaries for psycho-social activities, legal sessions through outreach, word of mouth and/or receiving people who access the center.
  • Conducting interviews with parents to assess and review their situation and their children’ cases.
  • Preparing activities material in line with the curriculum provided.
  • Conducting psycho-social activities for children inside –and sometime outside- the centre.
  • Identifying cases to be managed and followed and doing the appropriate social follow-up.
  • Supervise the social worker doing the case management.
  • Participating in evaluation focus groups and meetings.
  • Conducting home visits.
  • Filling up daily, weekly and monthly forms and maintaining records (registration, monitoring, referrals and reporting on implementation) in collaboration with other team members.
  • Offering information and support.
  • Recommending and referring specific cases to the best course of action.
  • Coordinating with the lawyer of MSD (the partner implementing jointly with Tabitha)
  • Setting the weekly planning of the activities
  • Coordinating with the donor when needed
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams and trainings/meetings such as child protection or mental health.
  • Attending sector working group meetings mainly in Tripoli, when needed in Beirut
  • Protect individuals from harm to themselves or to others.
  • In charge of the daily accountants of the center.

• Bachelor in social work preferably, sociology, animators are also invited to apply;
• At least 5 years relevant field experience and working with Syrian refugees
• Settled character with ability to cope with stressful, delicate and possibly unstable situations;
• Proactive attitude, flexible personality, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Experience in working with partner organisations;
• Fluent command of English and Arabic;
• Adherence to the mission and vision of Dorcas.
