Director - Environment, Energy, And Water

ECODIT Liban is seeking a full-time Director to lead and implement its business development and project implementation activities in Lebanon and the region.  Responsibilities The Director will manage a team of professional experts to perform the following tasks: Lead new business development. In particular: Track new project opportunities including Calls for Expressions of Interest and Requests for Proposals and/or Requests for Quotations from various sources, Position the firm for prospective projects through advance teaming and recruiting, and Manage proposal development efforts, notably teaming, recruiting short-term consultants, and managing the preparation of technical proposals (drafting technical inputs and approaches, estimating the level of effort and resources needed to complete the assignment cost-effectively) and cost proposals/budgets; Maintain strong professional relations with relevant government organizations (e.g., Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy and Water), lending institutions (e.g., World Bank, UN agencies) and other potential clients (municipalities, donors, NGOs, private sector); Develop and maintain professional relations with local and regional firms and organizations with which ECODIT LIBAN may partner for specific business opportunities; Manage and organize a growing roster of consultants that the firm can hire for specific proposals or projects; Direct or manage the implementation of relevant technical projects and assignments including EIAs, SEAs, Feasibility Studies, trainings, technical and policy support to government agencies, and other. In particular, direct or manage the preparation of work plans, scopes of work for short-term consultants, and all deliverables; manage client expectations; Monitor, oversee and provide quality control of technical deliverables, making sure they meet the firms’ quality standards, and are completed on time and within budget; Oversee staff development and conduct annual staff performance reviews; and Prepare annual company reports and business plans to the Board. Selection requirements Master’s degree in environmental management, environmental or water engineering, environmental science or policy, sustainable development, or another related field At least 10 years of professional experience and track record in environmental management consulting; experience in small business is a plus Fluency in English and Arabic, French is a plus Extensive EIA experience; SEA experience is a plus Advanced proposal development skills, including teaming, recruiting, and preparing technical and cost proposals Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects, fostering team-work, producing high-quality deliverables on time and within budget Ability to plan ahead and manage company resources Strong oral presentation and writing skills Proven interpersonal skills The Director will report to the ECODIT Liban General Manager.  He/she will manage the Admin and Finance Manager and technical staff at ECODIT.
