                                                                                            Lebanon   DRIVER   Project description Developing Rehabilitation Assistance to Schools and Teachers Improvement (D-RASATI) will improve educational outcomes in Lebanon by improving teacher and student performance, increasing community and parental involvement, and improving the school learning environment.  D-RASATI is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   About EDC Founded in 1958, EDC is an international nonprofit organization that works to build bridges between educational research, policy, and practice. EDC has over 350 projects in 35 countries with approximately 1700 employee worldwide.     Title:  Driver   Summary:  Education Development Center is seeking a Driver to be responsible for the safe transport of EDC staff and for ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained and kept in good repair.  The Driver reports on the state of the vehicle to supervisor and takes all the necessary dispositions. This position reports to the Office Manager and is located in Beirut, Lebanon.   Essential functions include [but are not limited to]:   Transport EDC staff and visitors; Demonstrate ability to maintain composure and work effectively in fast paced environment; Perform daily inspection of vehicle; alert supervisor to possible tampering of vehicle; Inspect vehicle for defects and makes minor repairs as required; Keep vehicle clean, in serviceable condition and performs minor preventative maintenance daily; Update daily vehicle log sheets; Ensure that vehicle is properly equipped and that accidents are reported to supervisor and investigation forms are completed; Record gasoline consumption; Organize daily travel routes and juggling conflicting requests; Good English communication skills.       Qualifications and Requirements:   Some Secondary Education or Vocational Training required; 2 years driving experience preferably with NGOs; Flawless driving record; Current divers license; Knowledge of local traffic laws; Good English communication skills.     Application and contact details:   Interested qualified candidates are requested to submit their resumes to hr@d-rasati.org by July 31, 2013 To ensure the timely review of your credentials, please insert “Driver” in the subject line of the email.  Only candidates who are being invited for an interview will be contacted.     EDC is committed to diversity in the workplace.  EDC offers a supportive work environment, competitive salary, and an excellent benefits package.
