Irregular migration expert

This is a consultancy opportunity with an international NGO, focusing on researching and monitoring irregular immigration (mainly via boats) that orginate from Lebanon. 

The work consists of monitoring media and official channels (LAF and ISF website) and international media to identify all incidences of irregular immigration and their details (number of immigrants, nationality, success, and any other details) while archiving and organizing this information in a machine-readable and easily searchable database. 

There will be a limited need for field work (interviews with immigrants and stakeholders), but the work will mainly be desk research.

Payment is a lump sum of 2,000$ at delivery of the research database and other deliverables  by December 2022

The ideal candidate must have :

- masters in immigration studies or political science, sociology, and other related fields

- experience in immigration studies and research (3-5 years)

- excellent command of English and Arabic (to read news sources, conduct interviews, and write research and reports)

- good knowledge of excel, word, and deep research

- the ability to work and deliver excellent quality work on time 

- proactive and willing to take responsibility and propose new ideas!

Recommended:

-knowledge of french

- previous research experience and specific local knowledge of the irregular immigration field
