Finance Officer

The Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial records of the organization and for providing support to organozation department for the development, monitoring and reportingf of program and project budgets

Major Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Chief of Accounting for the management of daily financial transactions for their proper documentation, management and record keeping.
  • Validating monthly departmental budget reports and expenses allocation with Chief of Accounting and relevant department management. 
  • Supporting monthly archiving of supporting documentation for monthly departmental budget reports both as hard and soft copies.
  • Supporting department management and Business Support Director in budget follow- up and new financial expenditures based on set project activities and timeline.
  • Generating monthly reports by donor and program, project or activity relevance with all supporting documents and based on donor requirements (documentation type, period, and frequency).
  • Generating annual program/project budgets
  • Analyzing data by dimensions on Financial/Accounting methodology and Project Bases methodology.
  • Providing assistance in Cash-Flow management and reporting.
  • Assisting in departmental internal reporting (purchasing, accounting, and management)
  • Assisting in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings per department, project and overall Embrace account.
  • Maintaining online folder documents uploads of invoices, slips and receipts to ensure all relevant documents of reports are correctly uploaded to their appropriate location.
  • Monitoring and ensuring accuracy of data collection.
  • Supporting budget development for donor applications and budget annual allocation based on account information and funding capacity.
  • Serving as key contributor for allocation of expenses to their appropriate fields and confirming data integrity with ensuring accuracy of information included to maintain precise bookkeeping
  • Developing a deep understanding of the organization's resources, gaps, and successful financial processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance or Project Administration.
• Minimum of 2-years working in data and reporting grant and donor reporting preferable with NGO settings.
• Budgeting and accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger functions is a plus.
• Experience in MS Dynamics is an asset.
• Knowledge in official documental procedures (compliance aspect) and proper know-hoe of allocations.
• Knowledge in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, data base management and developing tracking reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Word- Excel- PowerPoint) and reporting models (Excel functions, Pivot Tables, data collection and consolidation, charts)
• Experience in using data visualization tools.
• Strong writing skills.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
