Objective of the Role
The Project Coordinator will oversee and manage the day to day implementation of the PHC mental health integration project. The role entails coordinating planning, delivery, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with national standards, project timelines, and Embrace’s mission. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in scaling access to quality mental health care at the community level.
The role requires strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage stakeholders, ensure timely delivery of activities, and maintain alignment with national mental health priorities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Implementation
- Lead the development of a detailed work plan for project activities, in coordination with internal teams and PHC partners.
- Coordinate the rollout of mental health integration activities across targeted PHCs.
- Ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with Embrace’s strategy, the NMHP framework, and donor requirements.
- Monitor progress against project milestones and deliverables and proactively address any delays or implementation challenges.
Stakeholder Coordination & Liaison
- Serve as the primary liaison between Embrace, the National Mental Health Program (NMHP), PHC management, and other implementing partners.
- Organize and facilitate coordination meetings, joint assessments, stakeholder consultations and joint site visits.
- Maintain strong relationships with PHC leadership and staff, ensuring continuous engagement and feedback loops.
Capacity Building & Technical Support
- Coordinate the delivery of mental health training sessions for PHC staff in collaboration with NMHP.
- Support adaptation and dissemination of technical tools and material for PHC use.
- Facilitate ongoing supervision, mentorship, and clinical support visits in collaboration with the clinical team.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Work with the MEAL team to collect, compile, and analyze project data from PHC sites.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project activities, outputs, and outcomes to Embrace leadership and donors.
- Support the documentation of best practices, challenges, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Operations and Logistical Oversight
- Coordinate procurement requests, logistical planning, budget tracking, and field coordination for training and visits.
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding of project-related staff/consultants and follow up with them on a monthly basis for project-related supporting documents.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and support budget monitoring in coordination with Finance team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in health, mental health, or NGO sectors.
- Proven experience engaging with public health systems, especially MoPH and PHC networks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and community-based initiatives.
Technical Competencies
- Solid understanding of mental health systems and PHC integration frameworks.
- Familiarity with mhGAP and community mental health models.
- Experience in training coordination, field supervision, and project monitoring.

TIME COMMITMENT
- Full-time position (40 hours/week) with flexibility for field travel.
- Position is based in Beirut with regular visits to PHCs across Lebanon.
