Research and MEAL Officer (Part-Time)

A.  GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Research and MEAL Officer is responsible for developing frameworks, conducting evaluations, managing research activities, and facilitating workshops for internal teams and partners.

 

B.  MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. MEAL
    • Help develop a comprehensive log-frame and key performance indicators for projects’ evaluation
    • Help develop standard operating procedures and guidelines for the MEAL unit
    • Support in the development of evaluation reports for local and international partners
    • Conduct qualitative process evaluation when needed
    • Conduct quantitative analysis when needed
    • Conduct workshops for NMHP and partners
    • Manage the monthly reports and the mid-term evaluation reports for the team activities
  2. Research management
    • Help develop standard operating procedures and guidelines for the research unit
    • Review research proposals
    • Develop guidelines and standard operating procedures for conducting research
    • Develop research ethics guidelines and ensure proper adherence to them
    • Input at all levels of the research project– Planning, initiation, execution, monitoring and closing
    • Support the research project with evidence- conduct benchmarking and literature review to support the project implementation and address challenges and advice on best practices
    • Conduct situation assessment, desk review, quantitative and qualitative research when needed
    • Conduct workshops for NMHP and partners
    • Update the archiving of the programme publications

 

C.  QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s in public health, or clinical research in psychology or related fields
    • 3 years experience in research or evaluation
    • Strong research skills
    • Experience in monitoring and evaluation methods and frameworks
    • Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative softwares (Nvivo- SPSS)
    • Strong writing skills (proposals, academic writing, etc…)
    • Computer literacy
    • Familiarity with ethics guidelines and IRB applications
    • Arabic and English are a must, French is a plus

 

D.  TIME COMMITMENT

20 hours per week.
