A. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research Design and Implementation
- Lead and contribute to the drafting of scientific manuscripts, reports, and policy briefs in alignment with international publication standards.
- Contribute to the design and development of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies aligned with NMHP strategic priorities.
- Assist in preparing study protocols, ethics submissions, sampling frameworks, and research tools.
- Oversee and support data collection, data entry quality assurance, and basic analysis when needed.
Evidence Synthesis and Technical Input
- Conduct systematic and scoping literature reviews to inform study design and policy development.
- Prepare background briefs, desk reviews, and research summaries for internal and external use.
- Review and input on reports, research deliverables, and technical documents developed by partners or external consultants.
Scientific Writing and Publications
- Lead and coordinate the write-up of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, including introduction, methods, results, and discussion sections.
- Collaborate with study investigators and partners to ensure adherence to international authorship and publication standards.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and research partners as needed.
- Support abstract preparation, poster development, and presentations for scientific conferences.
- Maintain a pipeline of ongoing and prospective publications across NMHP’s priority projects.
Capacity Building and Knowledge Translation
- Organize internal writing clinics or capacity-strengthening sessions for junior staff or implementing partners.
- Prepare knowledge translation materials such as policy briefs, summaries, and infographics based on research findings.
- Maintain proper archiving and documentation of research files, tools and protocols.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (as needed)
- Support integration of research indicators into MEAL frameworks.
- Assist in tracking project outputs and outcomes related to research deliverables.
B. QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s in Public Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Mental Health, Implementation Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant research experience, preferably in mental health or public health settings.
- Demonstrated experience in writing academic manuscripts (at least one first-author publication required).
- Proven experience in drafting and publishing peer-reviewed articles.
- Excellent command of research methodologies, literature databases, and referencing tools
- Proficiency in statistical or qualitative analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, NVivo) is an asset
- Experience in conducting systematic reviews or meta-analyses is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required; French is an asset.
