Capacity Building Trainers

Expertise France is a French public agency under the tutelage of the French Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economy and Finance with a strong inter- ministerial vocation. Expertise France offers project engineering and technical assistance by developing and implementing international cooperation actions worldwide. EF operates in various fields of development and institutional cooperation including safety and security reform, post-crisis/ stability, public health, human rights, strengthening of institutions and NGOs and governance. Carrying out large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects, EF can ensure the cooperation between individuals, teams and institutions with very different statuses, cultures and specialties. Besides, EF has acquired a sound experience in administrative and financial management of large-scale international projects and is accredited by the European Union for the management of delegated Community funds.

’Qudra – Resilience for Syrian refugees, IDPs and host communities in response to the Syrian and Iraqi crises’ is a regional action financed by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, the Madad’ Fund and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), seeking to strengthen the resilience of Syrian refugees, IDPs and host communities in response to the Syrian and Iraqi crises.  The programme launched in June 2016, is being jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Expertise France (EF) and Spanish Agency for International Development (AECID) in programme partner countries of Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and North Iraq.

In Lebanon, Expertise France ensures joinltly with Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) the consistency and the implementation of the Specific Objective 3. The project seeks to improve social stability between communities in Lebanon through a comprehensive and local approach of protection for children and adults. Expertise France is working within the framework of the Strategic Plan for Child Protection and GBV of MoSA and the programme is being implemented in the Social Develpment Centers (SDCs) of the MoSA.

Expertise France is looking for Trainers to deliver a set of training for its partners as well as for a number of SDCs and local CSOs. Each topic will be implemented in 4 different locations (Beirut, South, North, Bekaa) within a period of 3 months starting March 2018 and ending May 2018. The topics are as follows;

  1. Non-profit project management                          (introductory/intermediate)
  2. Non-profit financial management                        (introductory/intermediate)
  3. Non-profit procurement management                 (introductory/intermediate)
  4. HR management                                               (introductory/intermediate)
  5. Strategic management                                        (introductory)
  6. Legal aspects of NGOs, CSOs, committees and volunteers’ groups in Lebanon (introductory)
  7. External communication and fundraising            (introductory)
  8. MS Excel                                                          (introductory/intermediate)
  9. Business English                                                (introductory)
  10. Internal communication, social media and success stories (introductory)
  11. Introduction to photography, use of professional camera and storytelling (introductory)

 

Individual trainers and training institutes are welcome to apply. Applicants are free to apply to one or more training topics, and one or several locations. EF will provide the logistical support as regards to venue set up, refreshments, stationary, coordination with participants, etc. The trainer is responsible for her/his own transportation and have the right to include it in her/his training fees.

 

The trainer however should be responsible for the:

  • Training agenda
  • Training materials (curriculum)
  • Pre/post tests
  • Attendance sheets (format provided by EF)
  • Final training report (a maximum of 2 pages)

 

 

Description of the Tasks:

  • Tailor the curriculum depending on the agency’s needs, following the recommendation identified by the assessment session
  • Send the curriculum to EF for approval and comments if applicable
  • Develop and pre and post tests to assess the trainees knowledge and evaluate the learning effectiveness respectively
  • Produce a final report to be submitted to EF at the end of the training, detailing the training outcomes, recommendations and comments
  • Curriculum design / content to be delivered one week prior to start of training

 

 

The training must be delivered in English. The curriculum, training design, content and methodologies should be submitted to EF one week prior the training starting date.

 

 

Requested Profile

  • A Masters degree in relevant field. A PHD is highly desirable
  • At least 7 years of experience in capacity building, development and consultancies, including a minimum of 5 years as a trainer
  • Experience in developing  training materials is mandatory
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills is mandatory
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills is mandatory
  • Professional working knowledge of English and Arabic is mandatory
  • Excellent coordination and team work skills
  • Understanding of the aspects of group dynamics
