Impact Assessment

1. SCOPE OF WORK

The Overall Objective of the project is to improve the general food security of Akkar region through maintaining farmer’s productivity and ensuring equitable access to fresh produce.

At the beginning of the project, a double assessment will be conducted by external consultants, a production assessment to identify final beneficiaries and better understand their situation and needs in terms of agricultural inputs, and an impact assessment to evaluate the results of the activities on the farmers and the beneficiaries. A set of selection criteria will be developed by Fair Trade Lebanon (FTL) and the Production Consultant, including the groups’ potential of development, state of development, motivation to participate in the project, stability, inclusion of women etc.

Following the design of the selection criteria, the Production Consultant will develop the assessment tool and collect data with several groups of farmers. Based on the answers and the selection criteria, a list of 10 final groups of farmers will be shared with FTL. After the selection of final list, the Impact Consultant will develop a feasibility study with each of the beneficiaries to assess their needs in terms of emergency support in agricultural inputs and design a response plan.

The consultant will also collect and analyze data to identify the best opportunity (based on the market demand, production capacities etc.) and enhance the efficiency of the investment.

FTL is looking for a Consultant to prepare and conduct the impact assessment for identified farmers.
