FTL wants to provide workforce insurance coverage for a minimum of 150 vulnerable workers engaged in labour-intensive activities, supporting cooperative members in agricultural practices in the Bekaa Region. The insurance coverage will include workplace injury insurance between July and October.
- 150 Workers (50% Lebanese, 50% Syrian; 30% women, 3% people with disabilities)
- Workers will work minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 hours a day.
- Maximum of 6 consecutive days in a week.
- 50 skilled workers will work max 40 days & will be paid 12$/day.
- 100 unskilled workers will work max 40 days paid 10$/day.

Company qualification
- The vendor must have a valid permit from all relevant ministries.
Insurance Specifications
- Workplace injury coverage: The policy must provide comprehensive coverage for workplace injuries sustained by the insured workers during the project period.
- Coverage period: The policy should cover the entire duration of the project, which is 4 months.
- Collective insurance scheme: The insurance coverage should be designed as a collective scheme, covering the estimated average number of workers per day working on the project.
- Medical expenses: medical expenses (emergency, hospitalization, medicines, lab tests) resulting from a work accident. Class of Hospital confinement: Third Class.
- Accidental Death: the legal indemnity due to the insured in case of Death following a work accident
- Accidental Permanent disablement: the legal indemnity due to the insured in case of Permanent disablement following a work accident
- Temporary disablement: the indemnity due to the injured in case of temporary disablement following a work accident and which will be settled by the insurer based on 3/4 of his salary, after deducting the first day (as per decree # 136).
- Employer's Liability: it is a ''Liability insurance'' endorsed to the workmen's compensation policy; it will indemnify the Employer/Insured for all sums which he shall become legally obliged to pay including claimant’s costs and expenses, because of bodily injury to any employee, and arising out of, and in the course of his employment by the Employer.
Requirements & conditions
- Prompt claims processing: The insurance provider should have efficient claims handling procedures to ensure timely resolution of any workplace injury claims.
- Support services: The insurance provider should offer support services to insured workers, including medical assistance, counselling and rehabilitation, if needed.
- The insurer should provide a focal point contact to reach out to in case of emergency.
- The insurer should provide a declaration of incident template.
