Expert on Gender Empowerment and Women Entrepreneurs

  1. Objective

 

The global objective of the project is to provide a long-term response to the crisis for food producers in the Bekaa region in order to maintain their production while enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities, stimulate the local economic growth and promote Bekaa’s culinary heritage.

 

By increasing numbers of visitors in the region, this project will support Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and contribute to the long-term sustainability of local agriculture and food systems, while promoting social and economic inclusion of vulnerable population in particular youth, women and refugees

 

 

  1. Scope of work

 In order to support the 60 women selected form 10 MSMEs in developing their knowledge about gender empowerment and women entrepreneurs’ workshops will be delivered in Zahle – Bekaa.

The workshop is a guaranteed tool to improve the women empowerment and entrepreneurship socio-economic situation of the MSME.

 

enhance women’s capacities to exercise their active agency and ownership in peace, security and governance processes at the local level.

 

The consultant will dedicate 2 days of a period of 1 month to develop and implement the intervention with beneficiaries of the project

 

 

  1. Outcomes

The following outcomes are what the activity aims to achieve:

  • improve the participants economically and socially and empowers them
  • promotes their leadership and participation in key decision-making structures
  • contribute to creating an enabling environment for women’s participation.
  • enhance women’s capacities to exercise their active agency and ownership in peace, security and governance processes at the local level.

  1. Deliverables

 

  • To prepare the workshop material for the sessions
  • Provide technical assistance to women entrepreneurs, including mentorship and coaching to help them start and grow their business
  • To prepare the pre-post test and evaluation for each of the sessions
  • To facilitate workshops with the participants
  • Capacity building report
  • Research report on the gender gap in entrepreneurship, including recommendations for addressing the barriers faced by women entrepreneurs.

 

 

  1. Qualifications

 

  • Advanced degree in gender studies, economics, business administration or related field
  • At least five years of experience working on gender equality and women’s empowerment issues with a focus on entrepreneurship.
  • Proven experience in conducting needs assessments, developing and implementing capacity-building programs, and providing technical assistance to women entrepreneurs.
  • Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles
  • In depth knowledge of the Lebanese context
  • Proven presentation skills
