Financial Counselor

  1. Objective

The project's goal is to enhance the resilience and self-reliance of vulnerable households with children in Beirut and Mount Lebanon by improving their ability to meet their basic needs through increased income and integration in livelihood opportunities.

  1. Outcomes

The counselling includes personalized advice on budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions, all aimed at maximizing the impact of the cash assistance received. Through financial counselling for 10 months, recipients learn how to allocate their resources efficiently, prioritize essential expenditures, and develop a savings habit that can provide a safety net for future needs.

  1. Deliverables
  • To Develop a financial counselling strategy document.
  • Provide a report on the 150 household financial profiles.
  • To conduct visits to 150 Households to provide finance counseling, once per month for each household.
  • Counselling session reports.
  • Budgeting and savings plan for households.
  • Monthly progress reports for 10 months.
  1. Qualifications
  • Higher university degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in providing financial counselling or advisory services to low-income or vulnerable households. Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, savings, debt management, and investment strategies. Familiarity with social safety nets and cash assistance programs is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience interacting with and relating to gender professionals and international stakeholders at senior level
  • Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles

  1. Payment terms
  • Invoices must be issued no later than the 25th of each month, and payments will be processed within 15 to 20 business days, provided that all deliverables have been submitted.
  • Payments will be made via bank cheques.
  • All applicable taxes will be deducted from the Consultant’s fees unless the Consultant is registered with the Ministry of Finance.
