Background

The Math Teacher will lead non-formal education sessions for adolescent girls in FEMALE’s centers. The teacher will design and implement math lessons that build problem-solving skills, confidence, and logical thinking, while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes psychosocial wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver mathematics lessons adapted to learners’ levels and program objectives.
• Design and prepare interactive math learning materials that engage adolescent girls.
• Use participatory and learner-centered approaches to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Integrate PSS practices into teaching to support wellbeing and resilience.
• Adapt teaching to respond to varied learning needs and backgrounds.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Provide individual assistance to learners experiencing challenges.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and program staff to strengthen informal education quality.
• Document attendance, learner progress, and performance regularly.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years teaching adolescents/children in formal or non-formal education settings.
• Demonstrated ability to create interactive teaching materials.
• Communicates effectively with children.
• Class management skills
• Strong subject knowledge with excellent facilitation and engagement skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, gender-sensitive, and safe education practices.

Reporting

The Math Teacher will report to the Project Manager.
