Climate Change Knowledge management Consultant - 12 months

The main objective of the assignment is to facilitate, support, coordinate, monitor and report on  the implementation and the community engagement activities of the project activities through relevant reporting systems and modalities .

The climate change Knowledge Management consultant will undertake the assignment in close collaboration with UNICEF field offices, municipalities, partners, volunteers and other relevant stakeholders . The climate change Knowledge Management Officer will report daily to the YAD Specialist, and to the Project Human Resource (through WhatsApp group established for this purpose, or other possible reporting tools).

Key Responsibilities

The KM Officer will undertake the following tasks:

 Data Collection

  • Facilitate community meetings and collect required employment data and other requested information.
  • Support supervision teams by leading community-level monitoring activities, including the collection of data on volunteering, climate activism, learning centres, and training reach.

Data Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Attend "Nahno" meetings and follow up on the targeted planning figures vs. achievements.
  • Monitor the implementation of climate action activities to ensure data reflects progress toward objectives.
  • Identify issues, blockages, or misunderstandings in community-related components based on data analysis and propose corrective actions.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Ensure that key measures and practices are implemented throughout the program, focusing on data integrity and accuracy.
  • Ensure all reports are submitted on time according to the agreed schedule, emphasizing data accuracy and relevance.
  • Support the Technical Supervision Team in generating knowledge pieces, case studies, and success stories based on collected data.

Stakeholder Communication and Coordination

  • Establish cooperative relationships and foster communication between partners, focusing on data sharing and collaboration.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders and promptly report any incidents to the project lead, emphasizing data-driven updates.
  • Support the coordination of stakeholders involved in the program, including organizing meetings focused on data-driven decision-making.
  • Establish cooperative relationships and foster communication between partners. 
    Community Engagement Strategy
  • Assist in implementing the community engagement strategy with a focus on data-centric initiatives and measurement of engagement outcomes.
  • Support in awareness-raising and training activities related to project initiatives, using data to guide educational content and outreach efforts.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by the Project Team Leader, ensuring data considerations are integrated into all tasks.

 

The Knowledge Management Officer will work in close collaboration with UNICEF youth specialist, youth officer, youth field offices, municipalities, partners,  nahno volunteers' team and volunteers. The role includes daily reporting to the youth specialist on the programme.

Key deliverables include:

  • Weekly Inspection Reports: To be submitted to the Project Manager at the end of each week.
  • Monthly Updates: Summarizing progress on program targets and main pillars of implementation, to be submitted at the end of each month.

 

    • Weekly Inspection Reports: Comprehensive reports detailing the progress, challenges, and findings from inspections, submitted every week to the Project Manager.
    • Monthly Progress Updates: Summarized progress reports on project activities, highlighting achievements against targets and implementation pillars, submitted at the end of each month.
    • Community Data Reports: Regular submissions of volunteering statistics, and other requested metrics related to community engagement on the reporting platforms.
    • Case Studies: Development of at least 3 case studies documenting successful project interventions and community impact.
    • Success Stories: A minimum of 2 stories per quarter, showcasing significant milestones or individual/community transformations.
    • Best Practices Documentation: Consolidated insights and learnings from project implementation for future replication or scale-up.
    • Community Meeting Minutes: Detailed documentation from facilitated community meetings, including attendance, discussions, and outcomes.
    • Community Awareness Materials: Development and distribution of resources or materials used during awareness-raising and training sessions.
    • Training Feedback Reports: Post-training summaries capturing participant feedback, key learnings, and areas for improvement.
    • Monitoring Logs: Updated logs tracking the implementation of climate action activities, volunteering efforts, and other related tasks.
    • Corrective Action Plans: Recommendations or action plans submitted in response to identified challenges or blockages.
    • Coordination Meeting Summaries: Reports on meetings with stakeholders, including actions agreed upon and follow-up plans.
    • Incident Reports: Timely documentation of any incidents or challenges encountered during project activities.
    • Consolidated end of assignment report: A consolidated report at the end of the consultancy , summarizing all activities, outcomes, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for future initiatives.

Education Degree Details
A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Information Management or Information Systems, Business management, GIS, Information Technologies, Computer Science, Statistics, Social Sciences or another subject area relevant to Information Management
Language: Excellent command of English and Arabic.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management, data management, business management and assessments, situation analysis and/or PM&E with the
UN and/or NGO is an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, GIS).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with data protection laws and ethical considerations.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with diverse stakeholders
