Education Consultant -South and Nabatiyeh 15 months project

 

  • Support reviewing periodic/quarterly narrative reports from Partners.
  • Performing verification on Dirasa and Makani partners’ reports on the Beneficiary Monitoring Assessment (BMA) platform, by comparing logbooks to the data included in the system.
  • Profiling of out of school children in South and Nabatiyeh and mapping across the high priority localities by partners are properly reported on BMA.
  • Support in identification of other emergency actors in South and Nabatiyeh (SAN) for effective collaboration to leverage Education in Emergency (EIE) resources.
  • Support in improving the understanding of SAN Field Office about the situation of children in the borderline villages and affected areas.

 

  1. Provide continuous technical and operational support to ensure the smooth implementation of the MFP programs (Makani and Dirasa). This includes daily supporting technical and implementing partners and preparation of materials/documentation/data.
  2. Follow up on the emergency situation and child displacement. Ensure proper assessments are conducted and children are referred to the proper education pathway.
  3. Conduct necessary monitoring visits to public schools as agreed with education focal point.
  4. Support the education focal point in facilitating regular coordination meetings between UNICEF partners to enhance communication and collaboration among internal colleagues, partners, and field colleagues. The goal is to ensure that success stories and best practices are shared across different regions.

d.         Ensure timely reporting on the Beneficiary Monitoring and assessment platform by partners. Perform verification of reported results to maintain data quality.

f.         Capture Program Success Stories and Mapping Programmatic Areas for Future Enhancement. This involves conducting monitoring visits and developing reports.

The main operational and implementation support tasks are to support the Office of south and Nabatiyeh in the education programming to achieve the set results through the following deliverables:

  • Support the Education in Emergency response for South and Nabatiyeh office in close coordination with UNICEF education focal point and chief of field office.
  • Support TREF Window 1 (FE) to ensure proper implementation of the different components and packages.
  • Support TREF Window 2 (Multiple Flexible Pathway) flagship programme delivery, monitoring and evaluation including reform strategies and approaches including but not limited to Transitions Framework for Out of School Children. This includes supporting coordination of the 2nd window reforms being implemented by CERD and MEHE ensuring proper follow up and engagement with key stakeholders and the implementation of the reforms according to the approved action plan.
  • Identify capacity gaps in across central, regional and schools and report findings to UNICEF and propose actions to address them.
  •  Follow Up with the TREF Third Party (BDO) for data Verification to facilitate their work and translate their pre- and post-verification findings into concrete response across both FE and MFP/

Educational Background:
BA in education, social science, social work, inclusion, gender studies, or gender-based violence related issues.
Experience:
– 3-5 years of experience in field and monitoring work.
-Good information and data analysis skills.
-Excellent organizational skills or meeting and recording their minutes.
-Excellent report writing skills.
-Excellent English and Arabic in communication and writing.
The consultant will be working from UNICEF field office in Tyre.
