Chef instructor

First Step Together Association is looking for a virtual chef instructor for an inclusive 45 minute weekly activity for youth (
regular and disabled) aged 13 to 18 years old.'

The chef instructor will serve as  a teacher and role model, teaching key skills and inspiring participants to cook healthier, inexpensive meals at home.

Requirements:

• Strong culinary teaching skills : Teach participants food safety and sanitation, knife safety, recipe modification, cooking terminology, and preparing simple recipes
• cooking experience 
• Choose recipes that demonstrate key nutrition, food budgeting, and food preparation lessons each week.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills: facilitate class discussions allowing participants to brainstorm how they might put new behaviors into action, discuss barriers to adopting new behaviors, and share ideas with their peers for overcoming barriers.
• Select and implement hands-on activities that allow participants to practice key skills and feel comfortable implementing new healthy behaviors.
