Psychomotor therapist or occupational Therapist

First Step Together Association is looking for a psychomotor therapist or occupational therapist to work within its projects in Akkar region, and to intervene with Children and persons with Disabilities. 

FISTA has zero-tolerance on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the human rights, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination. FISTA also adheres to strict child safeguarding principles. All selected candidates will be expected to adhere to these standards and principles. Selected candidates may be required to provide additional information to conduct a background check.
 

Main Tasks:

• to conduct psychomotor therapy interventions to Syrian children/youth with disabilities
• To fill assessment and session record sheets upon each session
• To coordinate with the project coordinator and other specialists.
• To undergo supervision and follow-up sessions
• To report on the child’s evolution and progress to the project coordination as requested.
• To conduct awareness sessions for caregivers.
• To conduct training and workshops for the professional team working within the project.
• To Assess the level of speech impairments/delay, difficulty and set accordingly an individualized Treatment Plan
• To fill discharge and end of treatment reports upon therapy completion
• To collaborate with parents through meetings in order to meet desired goals and to evaluate the child's current level, personal areas for development, and capacities.
• To conduct training sessions in schools increasing the knowledge of the teachers and team in schools about inclusion and topics related to children with disability
• To develop and customize training sessions for FISTA partners such as NGO’s and other stakeholders.

Required Skills:

• Holds a BA in psychomotor therapy or Occupational Therapy

·         Follows FISTA center policies and bylaws

·         Believes in concepts of human rights

·         Respects each team member’s position

·         Able to adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor

·         Good communication skills

·         Ability to work with patients from different backgrounds (cultural, ethnic….)

·         Excellent command of English

·         Ability to write reports
