Mode of Service Delivery:
Sessions may be conducted in several modalities, including at one of FISTA’s centers (Deddeh, Tripoli, or Akkar), at the specialist’s private clinic if available, or at a community center partnered with FISTA, depending on the child’s region and referral plan.
First Step Together Association (FISTA) is a non-governmental organization established in 1993 in North Lebanon, dedicated to supporting individuals with cognitive impairments, communication disorders, psychomotor difficulties, learning disabilities, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders, behavioral challenges, and psychosocial difficulties. FISTA’s mission is to provide education, vocational training, and professional rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, while advocating for their rights. The organization applies a strict zero-tolerance policy toward gifts, misconduct, sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, and child abuse, ensuring all allegations are thoroughly investigated and addressed through appropriate disciplinary action.
Position Overview
FISTA is seeking a highly qualified Speech Therapist in the Akkar region to deliver speech therapy interventions to children and youth with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide speech therapy interventions for children and youth with disabilities.
Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Share therapeutic plans with the interdisciplinary team and caregivers.
Maintain accurate assessment forms, session records, and discharge reports.
Monitor and report on each child’s progress as requested.
Collaborate with project leadership, specialists, teachers, and caregivers.
Participate in supervision and follow-up sessions.
Conduct awareness sessions for parents and community members.
Deliver training sessions in schools on inclusion and disability-related topics.
Develop and customize training sessions for FISTA partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy is required.
Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
Proven experience working with children with disabilities using tailored therapeutic techniques.
