Project Manager - Short Term full time Assignment

John Paul II Foundation is recruiting a Project Manager for a short term consultancy contract (3-4 months) to be based in the HQ in Beirut (duty station Beirut, with daily field visits in other locations).

The Project Manager will ensure the LoA project implementation to facilitate the final phase of FAO project GCP/LEB/030/CAN “Support to women’s cooperatives and associations in the agri-food sector of Lebanon”.

The Project Manager will work under the coordination of JPII line manager, in close coordination with the FAO project master facilitator and the FAO project team, whose role is to ensure that the facilitators and subject matter specialists will continue performing their activities related to Project output 2 and 5.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing several short-term consultancy contracts for the key stakeholder staff and for key consultants.
  • Manage the above mentioned contracts, ensuring monitoring and follow up, collect and revise their monthly progress reports.
  • Timely deliver monthly progress reports, to be submitted to the Donor to approve monthly payments to the consultants.
  • Timely prepare and disburse payments to the pool of consultants, upon Donor approval.
  • Produce, collect and report the administrative documentation to the JPII administrative department.
  • Prepare and submit to the administrative department the financial costs report.
  • Prepare and submit to the Donor the final report.
  • Ensure and facilitate constant coordination with the Donor key staff

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self‐education, prior experience or on‐the‐job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Master in Business and Administration or similar
  • Experience:  MINIMUM 5 years of experience working with International Organizations and/or as project manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Project management and staff monitoring and supervision;
  • Experience in drafting technical and administrative reports;
  • Good attitude and experience in working with cooperatives, informal groups of food processor SMEs, public authority staff;
  • Experience in networking with international organizations;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible and sensitive in demanding situations; passion for working with others;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • High integrity;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language;
  • Familiarity with MS Office software, such as Excel;
  • Driving license (mandatory).

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in the cooperative sector and other forms of producers’ organization
  • Availability of personal vehicle to conduct field visits
