Food and Agriculture organization of the United Nations Terms of Reference for Consultant Category B * Vacancy number: FVAC17.006 Name: National consultant - Translator Job Title**: Personal Service Agreement for Translation Services Division/Department: ESP   Programme/Project Number:   Duty Station: Home based   Expected Start Date of Assignment: April 1, 2017 Not to exceed: May 20, 2017 Reports to: Name: Maurice Saade             Bernd Seiffert Title: FAOLB Rep ESP : 1 year for a category C 5 years for a category B 12 years for a category A     General Description of task(s) and objectives to be achieved The Consultant will work on the translation of the e-learning lesson Pesticide management and child labour prevention and the unit 1 (lessons 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3) of the e-learning course End child labour in agriculture, which together form e-learning mini course on Pesticide management and child labour prevention.   More specifically the translator will be responsible for: 1.             Translating of the lessons storyboard (MS-PowerPoint) for the total of approx. 50,000 words, as well as pdf files which are a part of the e-learning course into Arabic. This includes the additional notes, annexes, job aids, case studies, examples, rollover text, pop up boxes and feedback for tests associated with each lesson) 2.             Ensuring compliance with the FAO/ILO standard and in consistency with ILO/FAO terminology related to child labour in agriculture, as well as with the FAO agriculture-related terminology; also ensuring consistency in the style and format within the slides (spacing, indentation, capitalization, paragraphs, headings etc.), and ensuring clarity and continuity of the argument(s), as well as clarity of structure and core themes; internal consistency, both analytical and stylistic.
