Volunteer - Nutrition Education

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The Food Heritage Foundation is seeking a volunteer in Beirut, Lebanon. Our organization focuses on two main motives:1)Preserving and promoting our culinary heritage2)Contributing to rural development  This volunteer position requires someone interested in community service, healthy traditional cuisine, rural development etc... Candidates should be eloquent in three languages Arabic, English and French and should be great with kids. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  Souk aal Souk is a mobile farmers' market that visits schools, universities, and municipalities. We dedicate a small area of the souk to the "Kids' Corner," a corner where kids have fun educational activities planned for them under the theme of healthy food. By volunteering with the Food Heritage Foundation you will get the chance to eat healthy traditional food, learn atypical recipes from rural Lebanon, experience the authentic Lebanese rural life, fine-tune and improve your skills, expand your network of connections and most importantly, meet and support producers from different regions.   The volunteer is responsible for: -       Managing the kids' corner  -       Planning a schedule with educational games & activities for the kids under the theme of healthy food -       Preparing all required materials for the games and activities We are seeking candidates with: -       At least a bachelor’s degree in nutrition or education (or about to graduate)  -       An interest in food heritage and community service -       A fun character -       The following characteristics: Serious, accountable & liable. -       Previous experience with kids is a plus -       Preferably a method of transportation This position will involve travel to Beirut and its peripherals as part of execution of the project.
