FoodBlessed

FoodBlessed is a Lebanese hunger-relief initiative co-founded in 2012 and driven by passionate volunteers. It tackles both hunger and food waste by rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to those in need through free meals and Food Assistance Packages (FAPs). The initiative engages the public in reducing food waste and promotes both Individual and Corporate Social Responsibility (ISR & CSR).

By building a sustainable national network of socially responsible businesses—such as restaurants, caterers, and suppliers—and civil society actors, FoodBlessed has created an efficient, community-based food rescue program. The organization operates with transparency, professionalism, and inclusivity at its core.

To date, FoodBlessed has:

• Served 4.7 million meals
• Distributed 58,000 monthly food packages
• Rescued 300 tonnes of surplus food
• Prevented over 1,236 metric tons of CO2 emissions
• Saved 70 million gallons of water
• Engaged over 7,800 volunteers in 100,000 hours of service

It’s not just a charity. It’s a community-powered movement aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals like Zero Hunger, Climate Action, and Responsible Consumption & Production.

جمعية فودبلسد جمعية غير دينية وغير سياسية تأسست عام ٢٠١٢ وتديرها مجموعة من المتطوعين الشغوفين. تهدف الجمعية إلى مكافحة الجوع وهدر الطعام في آنٍ معًا، من خلال إنقاذ الطعام الفائض وإعادة توزيعه على المحتاجين عبر وجبات مجانية وحصص غذائية شهرية.

تسعى الجمعية إلى إشراك المجتمع في تقليل هدر الطعام، وتروّج لمفاهيم المسؤولية الاجتماعية على المستويين الفردي والمؤسسي.

من خلال بناء شبكة وطنية مستدامة تضم مؤسسات تجارية مسؤولة اجتماعيًا — مثل المطاعم، ومقدّمي خدمات الطعام، والمورّدين — إلى جانب فاعلي المجتمع المدني، أنشأت الجمعية برنامجًا فعالًا لإنقاذ الطعام.

• تقديم ٤٫٧ مليون وجبة
• توزيع ٥٨٬٠٠٠ حصة غذائية شهرية
• إنقاذ ٣٠٠ طن من الطعام الفائض
• منع انبعاث أكثر من ١٬٢٣٦ طنًا متريًا من ثاني أكسيد الكربون
• توفير ٧٠ مليون غالون من المياه
• إشراك أكثر من ٧٬٨٠٠ متطوع في أكثر من ١٠٠٬٠٠٠ ساعة خدمة

ليست مجرد جمعية خيرية، بل حركة مجتمعية مدفوعة بالطاقة الشعبية، ومتماشية مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة مثل: القضاء على الجوع، والعمل المناخي، والاستهلاك والإنتاج المسؤول.
