Communication & Content Officer

Communications and Visibility

· Travel to field projects to pro-actively and re-actively obtain photos, video footage, stories, quotes, program updates, reports, interviews. Gather and prepare communication materials for the organization’s social media.

· Support in preparing press releases and responses to media enquiries and prepare presentations and information folders for meetings and conferences, in cooperation with staff and management.

· Prepares various written reports, drafts section of studies, e-briefings and case studies. Drafts press briefings and press releases.

· Design Strategic Visibility Plan.

· Gather and prepare reporting materials (project overviews and proposals, reports, FDCD’s news articles, web articles).

· Coordinate the collection of materials and data needed for the production of FDCD’s Annual Report.

· Prepare, facilitate and accompany field visits of high-profile visitors, photographers, journalists, or media crews. When applicable, draft terms of reference and contracts according to guidelines.

Media & Public Relations

· Regularly monitor local press and events to be aware of and get information about local emergencies, high level visits, surveys, reports, or any other topic that could be of interest.

· Conduct media analysis so priority channels and audiences are defined.

· Develops effective relations with media personnel.

Social Media

· Actively conceptualize, facilitate, and produce short content updates and creative, interactive features on Facebook and Twitter.

· Support in maintaining relations with online social media users and supporters in answering supporters’ questions and comments or in communicating from a FDCD field perspective.

· Monitor social media analytics and adapt approach as necessary.

Internal Communication

· Assist leadership in developing tools and structures to pro-actively support in improving internal communication within the program, e.g. internal news, contributing to team meetings.

Team Life

· Reflect the values of FDCD with team members, local staff, beneficiaries, and external contacts.
