Objective : Implementing the program activities supporting the development at local and regional level, within the framework of the aims and functions of this program, and in accordance with the FDCD policy as approved by the Chair.
Peacebuilding Conflict Resolution Program Officer
1. Basic function
Works as responsible member of the FDCD Peacebuilding team, in charge of implementing the activities related to peace capacity building. Includes: Administers and follow-up the work at local and regional level; monitors and coordinates all the work. Seeks to coordinate effectively and efficiently between this program and other programs related at FDCD.
Peacebuilding Program Coordinator
Duties and responsibilities
a- Carries the responsibilities of finalizing the plan of action for approval by the President and the program advisor.
Includes: Contacts key responsible to facilitate the implementation of the projects, trainers, speakers, government officials, school officials, religious institutions, consultants, trainers, funders. Holds key discussion with the responsible members to identify the added values of training needs to include in the plan of action. Ensures that training/workshop fits the lines of action prepared with the advisor, towards creating a culture of peace and always connected to the objective.
b- Determines with the advisor appropriate methods to respond to the needs of beneficiaries and always respecting funders’ requirements.
Includes: Organizes the consultations and meetings, finalize decision on participants; decides on best method and follow-up the implementation of activities according to schedule.
c- Coordinates well the work plan, in order to avoid duplication and to consolidate the work for optimum benefit to everyone involved.
d- Reviews the budget. Monitor Expenses and Follow up on budget
Includes: agrees on priorities with the advisor and the director. Assumes responsibility for the performance.
e- Takes efficient care of all the preparatory steps for the training sessions, workshop or the specific activity at hand.
Includes agrees with lecturers/trainers, signs agreement form. planning preparation in the country and at the country of the participants
Also, takes care of logistics, informs all, and registers all; Ensures availability of all necessary documents, materials, insurance, special request of participants etc…
f- Exercises financial authority, at the level established for this job by the chair and the Finance controller.
Includes: get approval signature for all payments for the administrative expenses of the training/meetings/workshops, or any other logistic requirement etc…
g- Ensures writing of reports (progress, narrative) and filling evaluations forms, ensures copy of content of newsletters or documents to all participants, ensures list of names diffusion to all.
Includes: reviews and assesses the training in order to learn from experience or to base on successes. Collect written information (media articles, documentary forms, photos…) for visibility use like the web site, newsletter or any other media diffusion, photos, etc… make sure to ensure availability of documents in order for FDCD management to use it in their final annual report
h- Undertake any other program related responsibilities, as requested by the FDCD Chair/ president and Peacebuilding Program advisor.
i- Coordinate the work with the Program coordinator and Program advisor
