Finance-Admin Assistant (Part Or Full-Time)

Position: Finance-admin assistant for our programme in Lebanon (part or full time position 40 h / 80%-100%) forumZFD (Forum Civil Peace Service) is a German non-governmental organisation established in 1996. It strives for a culture of non-violence, where conflicts will be dealt constructively with the goal of ensuring peace. With the help of qualified peace experts and the implementation of projects of the Civil Peace Service, forumZFD works on the development of non-violent conflict transformation methods and tools for dealing with violent conflicts. forumZFD implements programs in the Middle East, Western Balkans, Philippines, Cambodia, Germany and most recently in Ukraine. forumZFD has been working in Lebanon since 2009. The 12 local and international staff in collaboration with local NGOs develop projects in three areas: Dealing with the Past, Capacity Development and Community Mobilising. Initiatives in the program area Dealing with the Past (not only the civil war, but also more recent events) aim to promote mutual acceptance of different narratives of the past. forumZFD supports individuals to engage in an inclusive discourse on history and identity. In the area of Capacity Development we offer trainings in non-violent conflict transformation to further develop the capacity of the local civil society and our partner organizations to address conflict in a constructive, sensible and peaceful way. As part of the Community Mobilising project, forumZFD together with its partners trains Lebanese and Syrian community activists to strengthen inter-group relationships, address local conflicts and meet local needs of both communities in areas where there is a high influx of Syrian refugees. Tasks and responsibilities: As a finance-admin assistant, you will work within a small team with one other colleague on all administrative and financial aspects of our program. Supported and supervised by the Head of Program, the team is tasked with planning and documentation of the finance and admin work according to the internal (forumZFD) guidelines, the guidelines of the BMZ (the German Ministry of Cooperation and Development) and the Lebanese regulations. Your specific tasks: Assist in revising and presenting financial documents in an accurate and timely manner; Prepare support documents and support financial reporting; Follow up on suppliers and service provision contracts including car rental; Support the procurement of the office; Keep inventories of all office and project related goods; Contribute to logistics for the office, staff and projectrelated matters;  Support the financial and administrative routines (call for money, money shuffling, bank reconciliation) Manage, record and reconcile the cash flow and forecasting. Your profile: Educated to degree standard (at least Bachelor’s degree or similar); Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the civil society sector; Experience working with national (and/or international) NGOs; Ability to work as part of a team and build strong working relationships; High level of flexibility; Fluent in written and spoken Arabic; Good written and spoken English; Excellent interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work well on own initiative and in a self-organised manner and complete tasks on time; Open to learn and develop; Commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity; Commitment to non-violence; Driver's licence and readiness to travel occasionally within all Lebanon. We offer: Participation in a growing organisation with remuneration based on the forumZFD Lebanon salary scale 1,100-1,200 USD per month for a full time position, depending on the level of experience and scope of tasks, including opportunities for capacity development, comprehensive social security benefits, transportation, and in a private medical insurance. As a finance-admin assistant you will work in a small team (2 persons), you will take on an interesting position within the innovative field of civil conflict transformation and peace building. You will contribute with your skills to the team-oriented working environment and work closely with a team of 12 local and international employees.
