Project Manager (Community Counseling & Capacity Building In Conflict Transformation)

forumZFD is working in the field of Civic Peace and Conflict Transformation. In 2010 forumZFD opened an office in Beirut (Badaro). We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Project Manager.   Job Vacancy: Project Manager (community counseling & capacity building in conflict transformation)    Closing date for applications: 8th of January, 2014 Work will commence on the 1st of February 2014 Location: Mathaf, Badaro   Volume of work: 40h/ week   The successful candidate will be implementing a conflict transformation project in West Bekaa in three villages accommodating a high number of refugees. Counseling and strategic skills are particularly important. Furthermore a good understanding of Capacity Development is essential. Tasks include: Developing through interviews and focus group meetings a context analysis on the ground. Developing in cooperation with local actors a strategic plan and action points for the respective community. Providing counseling to local authorities. Implementing trainings for civil society actors, local authorities and other stakeholders and decision makers in the region. Developing and implementing follow-up activities. Maintaining good relations with partner organizations. Drafting progress reports.   Contributing to the (strategic) development of the program. Planning and overseeing the budget of the activities being implemented. Implementing, monitoring and evaluating projects. Supporting Public Relations of forumZFD.     forumZFD seeks a person with experience in counseling, training, facilitation and project planning and implementation. It is expected that applicants are able to plan and prioritize the workload in order to meet tight deadlines. Requirements: Work experience in professional counseling or related fields (please highlight experience in community counseling if applicable). Experience in working with local authorities. Work experience in training and project management preferable with NGO background in Lebanon. Master Degree in related field. Ability to work in an international team. Willingness to spend at least two days a week in the West Bekaa region in Lebanon and work with different communities. Good communication and networking skills. Excellent spoken & written Arabic and English.
